BGC Expands Renewable Energy Credit Desk

New York, NY. Monday, February 11, 2013, BGC Environmental Brokerage Services, L.P. hires Rich Heffernan to join its US renewable energy desk. Based in New York City, Mr. Heffernan will join BGC's renewables team to focus on eastern REC spot and structured deal markets. A PJM and Nepool REC expert, "we are thrilled to have Mr. Heffernan join the BGC team and we look forward to continuing to grow BGC's presence in the US Renewable Energy Markets," says Craig Flinn, Managing Director, BGC Environmental Brokerage Services, L.P.

Prior to joining BGC, Mr. Heffernan built and ran Marex Spectron's renewable energy team and brokered some of the industry's first including Delaware and Ohio Solar REC transactions. Working historically for Prebon, GFI and Natsource brokering Crude Oil & Natural Gas, PJM power markets and capacity credits, Mr. Heffernan has over 20 years of experience in the power and fuels markets working with generators to maximize their asset value.
