Market Beat...
The Cantor Fitzgerald MPI moved up strongly for the third month reaching
$110.14, an 8.07% increase from February. The continued upward climb in
prices in front of the EPA auction took many market participants by surprise.
The unofficial buzz in the market is that auction results will reveal continued
strength. All three vintages being auctioned (1997, 2003, & 2004) are expected
to clear in a range no lower than of $103 to $107. The spread between highest
serious bid (1,000 or more EAs) and the clearing price is expected to be
tight again this year. In face of the auction, this month’s price run shows
little standing bids and offers, as much of the market waits for tomorrow’s
announcement of the auction results. Most interesting on this month’s price
run is an offer to sell allowances of vintages beyond 2010. We list an offer
of a fifteen year block of Allowances(vintages 2010 - 2014). Smaller blocks
are available from this time frame. Interested parties should call for additional
information.
